ABSTRACT

Managing attendance records is a very important and tedious task even today and took time. Technological advancement developed record-keeping techniques like RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and biometric fingerprint scanning, but all these technologies consume some time while marking attendance and also have chances of proxy and security issues. A real-time face recognition system is a practical method to deal with all these issues faced by traditional or modem methods, due to the advancement in face recognition algorithms and low-cost and effective hardware that can possibly lowcost face recognition-based attendance systems. In this proposed model we use the Haar-cascade classifier to identify different faces, it determines the positive and negative characteristics of faces and also uses LBPH (Local Binary Pattern Histogram) algorithm for face recognition.
