ABSTRACT

The cranial nerves are responsible for providing motor and sensory functions in the body. Peripheral nerves make up 12 pairs of cranial nerves. These nerves have complex anatomy, and studying their structures provides an understanding of the pathology of diseases and disorders associated with cranial nerves. This chapter gives an overview of cranial nerves. The primary goals of psychiatry are the detection and treatment of mental illnesses, while the goal of psychopathology is the exploration of the mind’s abnormal state. Here we discussed the framework of psychiatry and different categories of disorders associated with the mind.
