ABSTRACT

NB-IoT focuses on the low-power, wide-area (LPWA) Internet of Things (IoT) market and is an emerging technology widely used worldwide. It has the characteristics of wide coverage, high speed, low cost, low power consumption, and excellent architecture. The monitoring of waste dumping sites requires long-term stable operation and low device power consumption, which is in line with the characteristics of NB-IoT technology. Therefore, based on NB-IoT technology and the actual application environment of monitoring equipment, low-power NB-IoT monitoring devices have been developed for high-difficulty maintenance scenarios in waste dumping sites. The device can observe, collect, and evaluate the parameters of factors that affect the stability of the waste dumping site, such as tilt angle and displacement value, for a long period of time. Considering the power consumption of the device, performance, and stability tests have been conducted. Under harsh simulation environments, the device can maintain stable and continuous operation.
