ABSTRACT

In recent years and with the technological evolution, we can perform tasks that years ago were impossible to develop. This is the case of being able to have records of brain activity, where expensive medical equipment is required, as well as the use and exploitation of the signals were limited, today we can find solutions based on the use of brain–computer interface, based on low-cost devices, where you can make records of brain activity of various types of signals, these signals depend on the equipment, Another factor is the configuration of the electrodes that is required to make a good record, much of the equipment uses electrodes that are placed in the cerebral cortex, in this work we present the exploitation of a low-cost device, which uses a solid-state electrode placed on the forehead and with an armor that is placed on the head, which is easy to use, the equipment has a wireless connection, which allows transmitting the signal to different devices. As a result, we present the protocol of use of the equipment to have a good record, as well as to be able to prepare the data for later analysis; we present the different applications where brain activities can be recorded. The method is applicable, scalable, and adaptable to the different needs required.
