ABSTRACT

Nowadays although data is growing more rapidly, it is more crucial to understand how to handle it and extract hidden facts from it. The speedy development of digital technologies has led to a significant increase in the volume of digital data. As a result, a lot of data is generated by various sources, such as social media, smartphones, sensors, etc. It takes time and effort to effectively manage and evaluate big data. Decision-makers can uncover significant information from big data after processing it through in-depth analysis and effective data processing. Different methods and approaches of big data analytics can be utilized to extract worthwhile insights from such diverse and quickly expanding datasets, which may improve strategic planning and decision-making. Cloud computing is a powerful model that can handle and store enormous amounts of data. Cloud computing provides on-demand, flexible, accessible, and reasonably valued resources by doing away with the need to maintain hardware, software, as well as space on servers. Both technologies are constantly changing and work well together. Scalability, agility, and elastic on-demand data availability are advantages of integrating them. Clusters of servers are required in a big data environment to maintain the tools necessary to process enormous volumes of data quickly and in a variety of formats. Cloud computing economically provides this kind of service by giving users access to a cluster of computers, storage, and networking resources that can scale up or down as needed. With the use of cloud computing, several users can access and update their data on a single server without having to purchase additional apps. This chapter examines the function of big data within the context of cloud computing. The definition and classification of big data with its tools and challenges are included in this chapter with cloud computing technology definition and its types. The architecture of cloud computing in big data technology is also elaborated on its advantages.
