ABSTRACT

Industry 5.0, which combines cutting-edge technology and data-driven innovation to redefine the future of food production, brings in a transformative era in agriculture. The various uses of Industry 5.0 in agriculture are encapsulated in this chapter, which also explains how they have a wide range of effects on sustainable practices, personalized nutrition, crop management, and quality control. Predictive modeling powered by machine-learning algorithms revolutionizes yield estimation and resource allocation in the field of crop management. Farmers are given actionable insights through real-time data from sensors, satellites, and drones, which optimize irrigation, fertilization, and pest control methods. The combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) also heralds the advent of personalized nutrition, which will focus on nutrient delivery and care for specific plants in order to increase production and nutritional value. Real-time quality evaluation capabilities of machine learning maintain consistency and reduce flaws, while proactive identification of machinery maintenance requirements in predictive maintenance reduces disruptions. Robotics powered by AI, quantum computing, and smart sensors reduce waste and improve environmental stewardship. The significance of responsible development is highlighted by ethical factors like data privacy and unbiased algorithms. Emerging fields like nanotechnology and synthetic biology promise transformative advancements beyond Industry 5.0. In the future, agriculture will be sustainable with robust crops, little waste, and fair access to technology. The potential for personalized consumer experiences and bridging the digital divide for smallholder farmers grows as Industry 5.0 connects with AI.
