ABSTRACT

Heteroatom-substituted alkynes most certainly represent the most versatile class of alkynes. While ynol ethers and thioethers still remain scarcely used, most certainly due to difficulties associated with their preparation and/or stability, nitrogen-substituted alkynes, and especially ynamides, have been tremendously studied and an ever-increasing number of processes, based on their unique reactivity, have been designed and developed over the years.
