ABSTRACT

Considering the extent of organic chemistry’s contribution to other disciplines, there is a growing demand for efficient, inexpensive, and short procedures to assemble complex molecules or pharmaceuticals from simple building blocks. Besides, the urging need for environmentally benign chemical practices also poses new challenges and requires new ways of carrying out organic synthesis. In this context, in addition to the use of new reagents and catalysts, the development of new sustainable methodologies is an important factor to consider.
