ABSTRACT

Presently, science and technology are evolving rapidly. One of the elements of modern technological progress is the initiation of Industry 4.0, which emphasises digital learning and teaching. Among the various technologies under development, augmented reality (AR) enables the development of innovative learning/teaching tools for mathematics education both in and out of the classroom. It is used to help students who have difficulties imagining geometrical objects in a three-dimensional (3D) way. It can be viewed using AR software/applications on mobile phones/computer tablets. This will help the learners to understand and visualise the geometrical objects. This chapter will describe how AR viewing software can be used to view objects in 3D, and its advantages in diverse fields are discussed.
