ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the world of smart wearables, focusing on their applications beyond artificial intelligence (AI). Various AI techniques are discussed that are being used for the development of wearables. We delve into the evolving landscape of smart wearables, encompassing health and fitness trackers, augmented reality (AR) glasses, and more. Through a comprehensive analysis, we also cover some case studies like activity recognition with smartwatches, health monitoring and disease detection with smart clothing, gesture recognition for hands-free control in smart glasses, etc. In addition we have presented the future directions in the field of smart wearables.
