ABSTRACT

This chapter is a story of hope and perseverance. It tells of a healthcare strategist who has worked tirelessly as an operations manager to influence the provision of effective aged care service delivery: it is an appeal for the dignity of the older Australian (and all ageing persons). The orientation of care, its governance, and its regulation are the drivers of age-related disability with a common lack of attention to the restorative potential of older persons receiving aged care services. This chapter documents proven efforts to redesign the care delivery and facilitated construction of health among older persons. This richly translates to ideals that governing bodies and providers must embed when servicing vulnerable aged persons with compromised health.
