ABSTRACT

In this study, the influence of mass and heat transfer of a 2D (two-dimensional) unsteady magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) flow in the occurrence of a transverse magnetic field and radiation over a porous stretched plate is investigated. In the occurrence of radiation, a uniform magnetic field is exerted transversely in the direction of the free stream. The flow is characterised by an unstable nature due to the time dependence of the stretching velocity and fluid temperature. The controlling boundary layer nonlinear PDEs (partial differential equations) are translated to a collection of nonlinear ODEs (ordinary differential equations) using the similarity transformation, which is computed numerically using the MATLAB bvp4c technique. The velocity and temperature profiles are analysed numerically using graphs for the problem’s various parameters such as unsteadiness, Prandtl number, magnetic, radiation parameter, and Eckert number. Skin friction (τ) and Nusselt number (Nu) are displayed via tables in the paper.
