ABSTRACT
The paper discusses the actual issue of the provision of the risk management system with an essential information resource. Since the quantitative risk assessments are calculated using the statistical information, there is a need to systematize the formation of databases. An analysis of the accidents reports allows to conclude that, in many cases, there is no enough causal relationship of accidents. It reduces the importance of the information in the context of the identification and analysis of risks as well as the use of statistical data for the probabilistic risk assessment calculations. The paper describes an approximate composition of the necessary information for the risk management tasks. A typical logistical scheme of the information provision of the risk management system in the maritime and multimodal transportation is suggested
