ABSTRACT

In front of a rich diversity of problems in land, sea and air navigation there is a need of proper and effective organization of the relevant information structures. This can be done with the use of general rules of geographic information modeling as formulated in International Standards of the series 19100, by means of the Unified Modeling Language. The paper gives a review of such rules for the topics of positioning, location based services, motion modeling of moving objects, as well as for models of transport networks of different kinds. There are presented only general views into the models, while all details, as attributes, data types, stereotypes and others can be get from the quoted sources.
