ABSTRACT

Syringoma is a benign adnexal tumor that originates from intraepidermal eccrine ducts. It generally appears as multiple skin-colored papules on the eyelids and cheeks of young women. On histopathologic examination multiple small ducts with a double layer of cuboidal cells in a fibrous stroma may be recognized. Dermoscopically, a yellow-brownish background with fine linear vessels and sometimes a fine pigmented peripheral network are frequently found in syringoma, while its malignant variant, the syringomatous carcinoma, is characterized by a white to pink background, scales and fine linear-branched vessels.
