ABSTRACT

This study aimed to produce a picture storybook, based on the scientific approach of using the project-based learning method, as learning material for grade students. This research and development referred to the steps proposed by Borg and Gall (1983), that is: information collection, planning, developing a preliminary form of product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, and operational product revision. The data was collected by means of an assessment sheet for the picture storybook product, a teacher response questionnaire, and a students’ response questionnaire. The results of this research showed that the picture storybook, based on the scientific approach of using the project-based learning method, was valid as a learning material for grade students.
