ABSTRACT

Filter-press is a technique of dewatering clay slurry under a high pressure of the order of one MPa. Volume reduction and strength gain are the apparent effect. To use the filter-pressed clay lumps as a geomaterial, physical and mechanical properties of both clay lump and their aggregate were summarized. The long term characteristics were also investigated on the strength of clay lump and their aggregate over 12 months under the submerged condition.
