ABSTRACT

Keeping the pathogenesis in mind, one would be prompted to assume an altered disease course during pregnancy as well as possible bad obstetric outcomes. However, these issues have been a subject of very limited research. The present chapter summarizes evidence regarding vitiligo and pregnancy, especially with regard to the effect these conditions are likely to have on each other, in both the short and long term. As with other autoimmune disorders, the course of vitiligo in pregnancy is seen to be variably affected.
