ABSTRACT

Though the current treatments are effective, not all patients and not all sites respond well to the available therapies, thus posing a therapeutic challenge and the need for newer therapeutic options. The newer topical agents that have been investigated in vitiligo include capsaicin, curcumin, Cucumis melo extracts, piperine, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) analogs, prostaglandin F2 alpha (PGF2α) analogs, basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), afamelanotide, L-carnosine, photocil, topical phenytoin gel, topical histamine, topical mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), and ruxolitinib.
