ABSTRACT

Treatment of vitiligo includes topical, systemic, physical, and surgical modalities. No single treatment is proven to completely cure the disease. Medical treatments alone or in combination with phototherapy are key approaches in the treatment of vitiligo. Oral corticosteroids have been the mainstay in halting the progression of the disease, however in the past few years many oral immunosuppressants have been used successfully to halt the disease progression. These include methotrexate, azathioprine, cyclosporine, Janus kinase inhibitors, and biologics.
