ABSTRACT

Vitiligo is a common melanocytopenic depigmentation disorder seen in India and worldwide. Gujarat and Rajasthan states have the highest prevalence in India. The wide variation in vitiligo prevalence can be attributed to the varying ethnic backgrounds of the study populations and differences in their environmental conditions as well as higher reporting of vitiligo in a population, where an apparent color contrast and stigma attached to the condition may force patients to seek early consultation.
