ABSTRACT

In view of the limited response to the existing therapies in vitiligo, there is a continuous search for better treatment options in its management. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has shown its efficacy in augmenting the repigmentation in two case series. It was used as intradermal injections for localized disease as a monotherapy in the first study, while its use in the second study was an adjunct therapy to narrow-band ultraviolet B. The exact mechanism of action of PRP in vitiligo in unknown, but various mechanisms of action have been proposed.
