ABSTRACT
Classification of vitiligo is essential to identify the clinical spectrum, severity, and prognosis as well as the management of the disease. With the advancing scenario, there have been dynamic changes in the classification of vitiligo. In this chapter we discuss the various landmarks in classifications of vitiligo given in the past as well as the recent standard accepted classification. Most of the classifications of vitiligo classified vitiligo on a clinical basis; however, a few also classified vitiligo according to pathological, therapeutic, or surgical parameters.
