ABSTRACT

Nanotechnology deals with the design and production of nanoparticles (NPs) by controlled manipulation of size and shape at the nanoscale. This chapter discusses the pharmaceutical importance of Syzygium cumini and its use in nanotechnology. Green nanotechnology strives to discover synthetic methods that eliminate harmful reagents and enhance the efficiency of existing methods. Nanotechnology is the most important field for generating novel biomedical applications. Nanotechnology has made great progress in improving the performance of many therapeutic payloads. Spectroscopic techniques, such as ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer, are used for the initial screening of nanomaterial synthesis. Nanotechnology has the potential to revolutionize the use of S. cumini, a rich source of phytochemicals having proven pharmacological activities. S. cumini parts contain compounds that are responsible for its medicinal and pharmacological properties. Nanotechnology provides a variety of nanovectors (NVs) that can be smartly synthesized and used for improving the efficacy and therapeutic index of phytochemicals present in the S. cumini.
