ABSTRACT
Isotropic amorphous optical materials are transparent and they are used to make optical devices without any birefringence effects. These materials can have different spectral transmissions, making them appropriate for different spectral regions. Many other properties, like thermal expansion, hardness, and so on, can also be important, depending on the application. These materials and their main properties are described in this chapter.
