ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION Th e heart of caring is the knowledge and skill each professional holds and the humanity the professional shows to the person within their care. To ensure that professionals have the right level of skills and knowledge requires continuous training and supervision. Th is is not just for the student but for all professionals. It does not matter how much we feel we know, or how experienced we are, there is still the ongoing need to freshen up and learn new skills, developing new knowledge. It does not stop at a qualifi cation.
