ABSTRACT

Amrnoxidations of 3-picoline to nicotinonitrile and 2-methylpyrazine to 2-cyanopyrazine were investigated both on conventional molybdena-vanadia/alumina catalyst and on non-conventional vanadium phosphorus oxides of different origin. The VPO catalyst supported on silica shows good performance. The catalytic activity is correlated well with the physicochemical characteristics of the catalyst.
