Thus, what chemists commonly refer to as Huckel theory is essentially the same thing as graph spectral theory (in the area of planar connected imdirected graphs with maximum valency 3) referred to by graph theoreticians. In fact Huckel theory and graph spectral theory are isomorphic theories [5,16,22,40,42].
