ABSTRACT
The article describes the use of lime/cement columns in road construction in Norway.
The NPRA’s procedures for selection of design parameters are described, and the present methods for field control and verification of achieved in situ strength are outlined, including the use of 54 mm tube sampling in “fresh” columns.
Problems with pore pressure build-up in clay during installation of lime/cement columns are described.
