ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book considers traditional and advanced ceramics including refractories and failures, whitewares and glazes, glasses and properties, miniaturization of complex ceramics, and structural and functional prototypes. The manufacturing sectors, including ceramics, are at a crossroad due to the adoption of high-level automation and the implementation of niche and unconventional technologies. The book deals with introductory information on manufacturing excellence in ceramic industry followed by particle management, which is one of the most important steps for ceramic processing. The processing protocols have been taken into account for the manufacturing of a wide range of bulk ceramics starting from extremely high dense to low dense ceramics followed by ceramic coatings. Excellent combination of examples and manufacturing outline of ceramic coatings, to scaling up the performance and durability of bulk ceramics for a wide horizon of service environments.
