ABSTRACT

The relevance of this research lies in evaluating environmental management and innovation as sources of competitive advantages in the value chain of avocado exporting companies located in Uruapan, Michoacan Mexico. It was applied to the nursery producers and packers through the application of a questionnaire with 70 questions fully measuring the model of variables this analysis allows to know the origin of the competitive advantages. The hypotheses were verified. The Spearman correlation shows that innovation has a greater relationship with the dependent variable and in the indicators, the process innovation is the one of greater relation, the environmental management the evidences show very little relation between the dimensions and indicators with the dependent variable, Inferring that the actions that the members of the value chain carry out to preserve the environment are few or none. It is important to mention that the collection of information was hampered by the environment of insecurity that exists in this region.
