ABSTRACT

In this section, we discuss various applications of the optimal MBP to ocean acoustic data. In e : t application, we have applied the MBP design methodology of Section 5.2 by following the basic s pi outlined: (1) model development, (2) simulation/minimum-variance design, (3) application (“tunir ” ) to data sets, and (4) performance analysis. Here, we will concentrate on Step 3 of the application to oc an acoustic data with the understanding that Steps 1 and 2 have been completed. For more details and the step-by-step processor designs, see the appropriate papers referenced. We will briefly discuss the followtr g applications to a portion of the ocean known as the Hudson Canyon, which has been used extensively for ocean acoustic sea testing. After describing the Hudson Canyon data, we proceed to develop ihe following MBP applications.
