I. INTRODUCTION

The application of compartmental analysis to the interpretation of metabolic studies has contributed to the advanced state of fundamental research in this discipline. However, mathematical models usually require a large number of calculations to be performed. For tunately, machines have become available to assist with the calculations, record keeping, and drawing graphs illustrating results. This section describes some of the applications of computer hardware and software to the analysis of compartmental kinetics and the associated problems which the user may encounter.
