ABSTRACT

Light-emitting diode (LED)-based white-lighting is an emerging and booming industry. Over the past few decades, versatile LEDs with visible wavelength ranged from 350 to 750 nm have been widely used as the back lighting source in displays, the lighting component for traffic lights and signs, and the basic element for ubiquitous indoor lighting systems, and so on, because of its high brightness and low power consumption. The traffic signage or electronic toll collection (ETC) can transmit information to vehicles. The dynamics of data transmission could somewhat be degraded with the aid of luminescent diffuser; however, it is also the complaint common to all divergent diode laser sources without appropriate beam focusing optics. As proposed, the blue diode laser-based white-lighting visible light communication (VLC) has significantly accelerated its pace for practical application. Numerous research peers have endeavored on related works to make the diode laser-based white-lighting VLC a competitive alternative as compared to currently available LED architectures.
