ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a semilocal convergence analysis of the directional Newton method (DNM) with weaker hypotheses, larger convergence domain and finer error bounds. It provides some needed lemma on majorizing sequences for DNM. The chapter also includes a numerical example of the DNM.
