ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the study of the semilocal convergence of Newton’s method with numerical examples. It provides a more flexible way of computing upper bounds for a majorizing sequence. The chapter also presents a tighter convergence analysis and weaker sufficient semilocal convergence conditions in many interesting cases.
