ABSTRACT

Big data is a term applied to data sets whose size or type is beyond the ability of traditional relational databases to capture, manage, and process. There is a big difference between big data analytics and handling a large amount of data in a traditional manner. Unstructured data is heterogeneous and variable in nature and comes in many formats, including text, document, image, video, and more. Big data is not just big, it is also fast. Big data is sometimes created by a large number of constant streams, which typically send in the data records simultaneously, and in small sizes. The changing and increasing complex threat landscape makes traditional cybersecurity mechanisms inadequate and ineffective in protecting organizations and ensuring the continuity of their business in digital and connected context. Big data analytics offers the opportunity to collect, store, and process enormous cybersecurity data.
