ABSTRACT

Management through opportunities is one of the ways of seeking increased operation effectiveness of an organization, and skillful use of opportunities is an important element of the modern manager's skill set. The modern manager, regardless of the size of the organization that he/she manages, has to constantly undertake new activities and look for new ways to increase the effectiveness of the organization's functioning. According to the dictionary of the Polish language, opportunity is a favorable circumstance that makes something possible, is conducive to something. Chance is associated with probability, possibility of success, or achieving success in some area. Opportunity is a combination of circumstances, time, and place, which properly used by an enterprise may bring benefits. Opportunities can be created on the market. Seeking opportunities on the market is a way to develop and to win new customers, which is particularly important nowadays when long-term planning of any activities in quickly changing conditions would be pointless.
