ABSTRACT

The process approach to management has been present in literature and economic practice since the 1990s. Implementation of this approach resulted in improved effectiveness and efficiency of the functioning of enterprises and whole supply chains. Public organizations perform a range of processes that significantly impact the quality of provided services. In recent years, customer orientation in logistics has been increasingly highlighted, which can be an important element justifying an attempt to implement logistic concepts and tools in public services sector. Public logistics refers to transformation in time and space connected with performance of public tasks and coordination of points of contact between involved institutions. The public supply chain is a multilevel network comprised of a range of entities connected with and between each other. The type of public tasks performed by different administrative levels is determined at the legislative level.
