ABSTRACT
This chapter recognizes definitions of e-learning standards according to many aspects, including personalized e-learning, learning styles standards, and learning adaptation standards. It covers e-learning management systems and e-learning qualities standards, and finally the most popular organizations that certify these specifications. The chapter describes the various learning styles and presents e-learning trends. Categories of e-learning standards may support multiple concepts such as learning content and learning objects, processes, and business units of organization. The chapter identifies three types of e-learning standards, namely implementation standards, conceptual standards and level standards. An e-learning management systems is software that records, tracks, and monitors all activities of a learner. The chapter provides a summary of standards used in the e-learning industry, and discusses the most cited organizations that are authorized to approve specifications as standards. It also presents quality standards and their frameworks, and also provides an overview on personalization and adaptation learning.
