ABSTRACT
JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) stores data as self-describing documents and makes it easy to handle multistructured data and modify schemas. Incremental MapReduce generates secondary indexes on JSON data which might be up to date in real time and execute advanced aggregate functions on data. Users may use Cloudant as a completely controlled database as a server running on public cloud platforms like IBM SoftLayer or through an on-premise edition known as Cloudant Local. Users can deploy Cloudant in one of the modes like private, public, or hybrid cloud. IBM Cloudant is a not only structured query language database platform dedicated to the cloud.
