ABSTRACT

Evidence-based public health (EBPH) is a term used to describe the methodology used by public health practitioners to evaluate the effectiveness of public health programs, practices, or policies. EBPH can also support the decision to choose a specific course of action and determine how resources should be distributed. EBPH is important because it can be used to provide decisions based on data that demonstrate the strategies that work, it increases the likelihood of successful program and policy implementation, it leads to more efficient allocation and use of public and private resources, and it improves workforce productivity.
