ABSTRACT

Health sector deserves the use of smart technology not only to increase the efficiency of treatments but also to provide a more personalized healthcare solution to people. Internet of Things (IoT) has evolved as the new technology that enables heterogeneous devices to connect and communicate between themselves and cater efficient, personalized and simplified services to the users. Deploying such technology in the domain of healthcare could be extremely beneficial in making the system intelligent, achieved by the mutual communication between the peer devices enabled with IoT. This chapter proffers a perspective of eHealth, specifically addressing issues such as Cardiovascular and Neurocognitive diseases and Parkinson’s diseases, along with networking strategies to deploy IoT over these systems. Moreover, the use of wearables and its several aspects to healthcare with respect to cardiovascular and neurocognitive systems have also been discussed in the chapter.
