ABSTRACT
Earlier chapters have outlined the various professional, policy and political drivers to secure greater medical engagement in management, leadership and transformation of services. Chapter 5 described the development of the Medical Leadership Competency Framework (MLCF) (NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, 2010) and how it is being embedded into undergraduate and postgraduate curricula and being incorporated into revalidation standards for consultants and general practitioners.
