ABSTRACT

The flax fiber Xigeda soil is triaxially tested under unconsolidated/undrained conditions. Through the different combinations of flax fiber content, the stress–strain relationship of flax fiber Xigeda soil is found, and the factors affecting the stress–strain relationship and shear strength of flax fiber are analyzed. The parameters of Xigeda soil in the project indicate that the Xigeda formation is a very soft rock close to the soil property, with low natural dry density, high porosity ratio, loose soil structure and low strength. As the Xigeda soil contains a large number of illite-based clay minerals, it has a high sensitivity of water. The shear capacity of Xigeda soil has a high practical value. The shear capacity of Xigeda soil can be improved by reinforcement, so a study on Xigeda-reinforced soil is necessary. The soil used in Triaxial test was Xigeda soil from Panzhihua University.
