ABSTRACT

The linear phase-shifting transformer is a new type of transformer based on the structure of the linear motor. Compared to the traditional phase-shifting transformer, the linear phase-shifting transformer can achieve characteristics such as any angle shift, simple structure, and winding production. The phase-shifting transformer is an electrical device that is widely used in the electric energy converter technique. It plays an important role in the multi-pulse rectifier and multi-module inverter. The chapter introduces the basic principle of the linear phase-shifting transformer, the end effect of the linear motor influence on the motor’s performance when it is running. It examines whether the linear phase-shifting transformer also has the similar end effect, and the influence of the end effect of the linear phase-shifting transformer on its working modes. The chapter presents the optimization measures to reduce or eliminate the end effect of the transformer output.
