ABSTRACT

Non-invasive techniques, XRF, XRD and Raman spectroscopy have been used in the study of the carpentry of Mudéjar Palace from Seville Alcázar, to characterize the external layers of the wood polychrome. The goal of this work was to elucidate if the pigments are original or were modified during the different restorations realized. The data stressed important differences between the two studied carpentry attributed to the application time.
