ABSTRACT

United States is one of the largest crude oil producers in the world, but the consumption rate is higher than production. Hence, United States imports oil from varies parts of the world depending on different criteria.

The objective of this dissertation is to evaluate the impact of pipeline quality and facility sustainability on crude oil supply chain cost for Russia and Colombia that gave idea about when and where we have to invest to satisfy United States’ oil requirement. In order to meet this objective, three specific criteria are investigated as follows:

Evaluate the supply chain factors that determine pipeline quality of crude oil production

Evaluate the supply chain factors that determine sustainability of crude oil production

Evaluate the economic impacts of quality and sustainability on operational strategies in supplier network
