ABSTRACT
EXFOLIANTS Exfoliants are solutions, lotions, or creams applied to the face following cleansing designed to hasten stratum corneum exfoliation. They are similar in function to the antiaging astringents previously discussed. Their exfoliant effect is based on the use of α-, poly-, or β-hydroxy acids, thus inducing chemical exfoliation.
