ABSTRACT

The economically active population of the Slovak Republic comprised 2,725,838 people to 28 February 2017. While the number of job applicants being disposable was 228,665. Although the number of unemployed people is decreasing gradually according to the long term statistics, the unemployment of young people has been high for a long time. In the given period, there were 12,601 graduates unemployed, out of them 2,939 were university graduates and 9,662 graduates from secondary schools. Therefore we carried out a survey on a chosen sample of respondents in the Faculty of Business Management of the University of Economics in Bratislava. We wanted to know whether the undergraduate students in the third year of bachelor study are interested in starting their own business, their attitude and motivation towards business in connection with their parents’ entrepreneurial activities and possibilities to raise finance.
